Today is our consulate appointment, so we're sticking close to the hotel today. We have to be in our room from 10:30-12:30 in case there are any questions for us from the consulate.
Peyton slept until 7:15 this morning and woke up happy again! She wanted a bottle, but only drank about 1/3 of it. Then we got dressed and went to breakfast. Congee and chocolate bread again!
After breakfast, we looked at the fish, which we do every day at some point. There's a really cool waterfall inside of our hotel that falls into a stream, where there are all these fish. Not sure what kind they are, but Peyton is fascinated by them. Then, we took Peyton to the park. We passed Stella on our way again, and she came over to say hi. Peyton was pointing to all of the cars. She wanted to go for a ride in one of them. So funny! She did wave and blew Stella a kiss though.
When we got to the park, Peyton got all excited. She does this thing when she gets excited where she smiles, rolls her shoulders while shrugging them and moving her hands and arms back and forth. So funny! She ran for the stairs to the slide, asked me to go with her, and motioned that she wanted to go down the slide! She went down with me 3 times and smiled. She tried a few other things and became bored with it and started to leave the playground area. Really strange thing about the playground area is how many adults and his few kids are there. There was a granny climbing the bars and a lady in her 40's hanging from monkey bars. Then there was a guy in his 30's or 40's rocking on one of the other toys. It was kind of odd and a little creepy, but probably quite normal to them. Maybe they wondered why we were there with a baby!
After the creepy playground, we walked around for a while and then hit 7-11 for some snacks and a Sprite. Sprite tastes so good here, probably because it tastes normal. No diet coke for D, but he's been drinking Coke Zero and Sprite.
Then we came back to our room to play and wait for our consulate appointment to be over with. Peyton makes us laugh so much! She loves to be tickled and has a cute little laugh. She thinks the silliest things are so funny, like taking the dimmer switch knobs off. She laughs so hard at that! She saw Darren listening to his iPod and wanted to put his headphones on, so he helped her put them on. He tried turning the music up all the way to see if we could get a reaction. Nothing. But it sure was cute to see her wanting to mimic us. She pretended his iPod was a phone, even moving her lips to pretend she was talking. Then she pretended it was a camera. I love watching her mind at work/play.
Then it was time for a snack and a nap. She loves her snacks and is learning to say more, please. She has more down, but I don't think she knows what lease means yet. We'll keep reinforcing it though.
She fought sleep when it was time for a nap. She finally exhausted herself and fell asleep about an hour ago. Darren told me I was a good mom. That felt good.
Now, we are watching stepbrothers and our baby sleep. She looks so sweet when she sleeps.
Jason called a few minutes ago to tell us everything went well at the consulate and to remind us about our meeting in his room at 4:30 regarding departing Guangzhou. We're getting closer than ever to getting back home! Yay!
