It Was A Good Tuesday

Peyton had a really great day today – I’m glad she was able to be so interactive with so many people who mean so much to me and Darren (see the three other posts from this evening).  Darren was glad to get home this evening and couldn’t wait to hug his little girl.  After everyone was gone for the evening (my mom and Larry went dancing in Fort Collins and Troy and Clair left), we got Peyton ready for bed (after a short wagon ride up and down the street, of course).  We have both been laying with her until she falls asleep, and she has been doing really great with it.  Tonight was no exception.  After playing with her ladybug for 5 minutes or so, she turned it off, pushed it aside, and laid down in between us.  She snuggled her head close to me and kissed my thumb while holding Darren’s arm.  Once she was sound asleep, we just stayed there, taking in how good it felt to be lying next to our precious little girl.  Darren had a tear in his eye – he really missed her today and wanted to breathe her in for as long as he could.  She’s an awesome little girl, and we feel so blessed and privileged that we get to be her parents.
