Whew! It was a busy day! First, meeting Uncle Stuart; then meeting Grandma Pam and Granddad; and finally, meeting Clair and Troy, our good friends. Peyton was in a great mood when they arrived, and we were all eating. They brought their dinner to eat with us. Before they could sit down to eat, Peyton was copying me, giving them both hugs by leaning up against their chests. Troy’s watch immediately caught her eye, and within moments, he took it off, and she played with it for the rest of the night. A little while later, she had Clair’s jewelry too. The girl loves jewelry! Through dinner, she took turns sitting on his lap and Clair’s lap, testing out their food and being sweet to them. Peyton worked both of them and got them to carry her all night long to all of the places she wanted to go. She even waved bye bye to me at the door to the playroom and closed the door (while in Clair’s arms). That was a shocker! The door was open shortly thereafter, but she stayed in there with them and played with one of her wooden puzzles with the disco ball light on. I went to use the restroom, and they were yelling at me to come see – Peyton asked to get down onto the carpet and was messing around in there – on the carpet – without her shoes and socks on. Whoo hoo! Progress! Then, she got Troy to carry her to the basement a few times. Peyton sat on Clair’s lap and looked through the photo album the orphanage gave us. She looked through it very intently and was really focused on the one page that showed the beds and a little window – I would have loved to have known what was going through her head. It was also cute how she kept pointing to the book and then to herself, mouthing, “Me, me, me.” It was precious. She thoroughly enjoyed her evening and really liked both Troy and Clair – she was completely comfortable around them and was herself – they got to see the full range of her cuteness – the funny faces, her adorable giggle, knuckles, and her super cute playful side. They were very sweet to her. At the end of the night, she wanted Troy to carry her because she knew he was a softie and would do whatever she wanted. He walked her around the cul-de-sac a few times before they left, and I brought out the wagon to get her out of Troy’s arms because she knew going back to mommy or daddy meant the fun was over and it would be time to go back into the house. She’s a smarty pants!
